Northern Virginia Speech Therapist

Geoffrey is a Northern Virginia speech and language pathologist who has experience working with both children and adults to enhance their communication skills.  His areas of expertise include social communication, speech sound production, literacy development, receptive/expressive language development, and accents.

Prior to entering his Northern Virginia private practice, Geoffrey provided speech and language therapy to students in grades K-12 in the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia.  He currently works as a clinical supervisor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., training graduate clinicians in the areas of accent modification, augmentative/alternative communication, and literacy.

Geoffrey is certified in the It Takes Two to Talk® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children birth to 5 years of age who have been identified as having a language delay.  Geoffrey is also trained in the Phono-Graphix® method of reading instruction, a multi-sensory, developmentally appropriate, and sequential approach to literacy instruction that he utilizes to remediate reading and spelling difficulties and assist clients in reaching their literacy goals. He has also received extensive training in the area of accent modification, and is a certified Compton P-ESL (Pronouncing English as a Second Language) accent modification instructor.

Committed to providing evidence-based techniques in order to assist all individuals in reaching their communication potential, Geoffrey is licensed in the state of Virginia and the District of Columbia, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
